Tanya Bannister, Ph.D. is the founder of Cognitive Therapy for Women, and is a New York State licensed psychologist (NYS license #015-186). Dr. Bannister received her doctorate in counseling psychology from Columbia University, and received her postdoctoral training at the Cognitive Therapy Clinic of Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. Bannister has focused on the psychology of women predominantly in her career, and has had strong success using cognitive therapy to treat women’s mental health issues. Dr. Bannister has been an active member of the Women’s Mental Health Consortium affiliated with Weill Medical College of Cornell University since its inception in 2002.
Dr. Bannister has also expanded Cognitive Therapy for Women to include the services of a cognitive therapy fellow, Ms. Roxanne Wolanczyk, LMSW. Ms. Wolanczyk graduated from the Hunter College School of Social Work and has been trained in CBT as well. She shares Dr. Bannister's commitment to working exclusively with an adult female clientele. |
